Yeti Brunch
My quest to find the perfect champagne brunch led me to Tibet Nepal House in Pasadena http://tibetnepalhouse.com/ (I called ahead to ensure it included champagne). This place makes it on my list of favorite brunch places. $10 for all you can eat buffet is right up my alley. It was my first experience with Tibetan/Nepales/Himalayan cuisine which is a lot like Indian food (dot, not feathers) with a little milder lighter taste. If I was a Yeti I'd eat here all the time.

Bludso's BBQ of Compton is the shit!
Located off the 710 freeway on Long Beach Blvd is Bludso's Texas style bbq. First off, the neighborhood is actually quite nice in contrast to its bad reputation. Bludso's is a small little place with maybe room for 8 along its bar style seating, so we were lucky is wasnt crowded. There is a table out back next to the grills if you are so inclined. Joe and I decided to share the Texas Sampler which is a monstrous plate of all their meats ("hot" bbq sauce on the side of coarse), cornbread, white bread, plus two side (we opted for the greens & beans) and a Big Reds to wash it down.
It's really hard to review due to the fact that everything was excellent including the staff. The top contenders were the pork ribs, brisket & rib tips. The ribs were succulent and falling off the bone with smokey flavor all over those bad boys as you can see from the smoke ring, brisket was deliciously flavored and smoked & the tips had a nice bark and were falling apart as well. None of these needed sauce although their sauce is top notch. Sausages were mild with just a hint of bite, chicken was moist with a nice seasoning and the pulled pork was tender with a hint of smoke. Cornbead was fantastic. Jesus Christ, writing this makes me want to go back right goddamn now.

Gyro Night at Surf City Market & Deli
Located in the beautiful downtown Huntington Beach, about halfway down the main drag, is the Surf City Market & Deli (it's really a liquor store). They start serving the gyros at 6pm till 2am, 7 days a week which better than the sucky 9pm time that they were serving for a while. A hefty mix of savory gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, onion and garlicky yogurt sauce makes this the perfect fix for those late night drunken cravings. Only drawback is that it is cash only.

Hey Man What You Fittin To Do? Get Some Of That Perdues Babbycue
I've heard most of the real BBQ houses are in south central yet this one will not disappoint. The lovely city of Pasadena holds Perdues Q's BBQ ( www.perduesbbq.com ). After reading all the reviews about this place and doing a little grind to the groves on their website I figured it was a must go to. Inside this temple was pretty simple with some old mammy deco along with a TV. The smell of tasty rub and wood smoke filled the place. We all ordered the combo platter which included Spare Ribs, Chicken, Brisket and 2 sides (mac n cheese & greens please). Had the BBQ sauce hot that was actually HOT which is a good thing but made a man thirsty so I ordered a Grape Soda. Also our friend was nice enough to order the daily special "Brisket Chili Cheese Fries". Everything was great and I give it two thumbs up.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk Stritch Stout
Rahsaan Roland Kirk Stritch Stout is a value for around $3 with an alcohol volume of 10%. Taste is clean with a dark malty coffee flavor. Very filling and very satisfying. Would go great with some slow cooked pork or any smoked meat.

Black History Month Brunch
My girlfriend and I usually go to brunch every Sunday. I have researched all of the local places in LA that have all you can drink champagne and will be posting more of my favorite spots. But for now I'm going to share with you Tam O'Shanter's which is one of my 1st brunches and still probably my favorite places to go for my Sunday morning fix.

Eating the emergency supplies
Well I ran out of the house today and forgot my lunch, none of the employees decided to bring treats or anything today and Im broke as fuck. So I decide to raid the emergency earthquake supplies under my desk. Let’s see what we have here: Mainstay 3600 Food Ration (9-400cal food bars). The things you will resort to when starving.
Upon opening, I break me off a piece of yellow gold. The texture and taste is like a really thick sugar cookie with a hint of lemon. This mother was about an inch+ thick. I only ate one cube. It satisfied my hunger and wasn’t the worst thing in the world although I don’t know if I would want to survive off these things for a couple days or god forbid weeks. I think i'll shop around for something a little more tasty for our emergency kit.

For our veggie friends who love BBQ
I was vegetarian for 10 years but never tried this. This might be a future project when my veggie friends are over.
